The Jerusalem Project

In collaborating with Cornerstone Church of San Antonio, the aim of this project (a 10-foot by 20-foot mural) was to educate and visualize for students the beautiful Jerusalem of today. I began with preliminary sketches of Solomon’s Second Temple and as time progressed, views of the Western Wall and the Old City of Jerusalem became the focus of the mural. I had visited Jerusalem several years earlier and was moved at how this ancient wall of colored stone has for so long attracted tears and petitions of prayer. My goal was to capture the beautiful history of Jerusalem, and at the same time convey a feeling of strength and greatness.
